OK confronting friends is truly scary — I think I am not the only one to have thought could do that/was close enough in say middle school and lost a friend. Has meant allowing behaviors I should have stopped a long time ago, from the simplest stuff like “I really don’t want to wait for you every single time we do anything …” to much more serious issues like “I really hoped you would be there for me when my father died.” Whew.
