Carry me through sandy storms, where smiles are real

and stoney hearts are kept

Far away

exchange my hour of disappointment.

Atone now, oh soulless foe.

Carry me to the land where humans grow

Amen! On so many levels … I was near the Connecticut shore when storm Sandy came through … I love the shape of the poem — like a breathing in and out and I love the re-definition of “atone.”
