Well, today was no different, NaPoWriMo took me for a spin! I had to wad up so many paper balls. Scratch my head again and again. I know I probably was over thinking it. That’s what I do. What can I say, it was complicated enough, geez! Here’s what I came up with. I had a few issues playing the short clip so I just captured the photo. And of you want to hear the poem, click on the link https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QDJ1ZlHSy-k

Today, I’d like to challenge you to write a variation of an acrostic poem. But rather than spelling out a word with the first letters of each line, I’d like you to write a poem that reproduces a phrase with the first words of each line. Perhaps you could write a poem in which the first words of each line, read together, reproduce a treasured line of poetry? You could even try using a newspaper headline or something from a magazine article. Whatever you choose, I hope you enjoy this prompt.https://www.napowrimo.net/day-six-9/

We’re on day Three. WOW! I haven’t stretched these poetic bones in a while, and its’ showing. Goodness, I really struggled today. Had to write little by little come back to the scratch of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoOufhPQzuI

I didn’t want to go at this alone. So this year, I’m asking. Whose with me? Writing that is. Poetry anyone??? I thought you should also know that I’m taking a leap of faith starting a prayer and poetry channel on YouTube. So if anyone is interested this is where you can find me during the month of April. Hey, I may even go live!!!! Feel free to like and subscribe. Blessings to all the poets out there.

Poetry is a spiritual practice
stop, pause ,
breathe in
and write Poetry

(me -Krissy as a kid- gotta get back to my 3rd grade stories one of these days, photo taken in 1989)
I wanna live like love’s never dying
never saying goodbye, see ya later or next time, for now our goodbye’s are getting cold
there’s a lake camping out on my eyelids – east winds, blowing
southbound and strong, I remember the smell of old writings,
I remember fear eating away at the day -we’d say goodbye,
I’m still looking for the sun in Indiana
still growing-up to be a grow up – one of these ole’ days
still love to taste dark cherries of summer
still love to daze into the dawn of the open-sun
still love to feel small against river’s rapid drums
and know home-home is never done.
