  • The Art of Falling

    September 28th, 2023

Okay I’ve been off the scene for a while. Some days, writing doesn’t come easy. And I’m learning from my failures.

I’m embracing the true art of falling. The art of getting back up, to try again. And when that fails, try again.

There’s art here: when I can laugh at myself. For my mistakes. When I can see the rejection letters from my writing. It’s not -rejection of me, its recognition of the areas of progress, places where I am striving.

So I’m dusting myself off. Listening to the the spin cycle, the sounds of running water, breaking away from the old.

    Embracing the falls,

    the spins, every

bit of the journey.  your Poet Krissy Mosley

  • I’m sure of the Sunrise

    December 19th, 2019
Photo by Simon Matzinger on Pexels.com

In many ways we dream almost golden, the thorns that might arise breaking the nightfall. beyond the need of intelligence or intellect. A flower unveiling petal by petal, knowingly, the day awaits us to the sweet looming light,

    Soft timid blooming- press

turning the world around in a spec

that it is the earth’s kindness as she brings

icy lakes, black and white snow

    mud piles on the road

    journey attending,

    as we go …

    kindness sister Krissy

  • Desire:

    October 7th, 2015

I need the sky to walk down and touch me

    freckles of memories

    mark my journey

    from where I’ve been

    and where I’m going

    Only the sky can see

    wings of faith-

See me carry my paper children

feed the souls with light and promise

that soon we birth our dreams

    to fly

I need the sky to come down and touch me

    pick up my fragile pieces

    bottle up my tears

    teach me how to

    carry my paper children

  • Self talk:

    September 30th, 2015

I am worth the dreams that live in me

I am worth the mountains that skip

    soothing my troubled soul

    cooling waters,open wide

    exploding through the errors

    down on Georgia st.

    I am worth the journey…

  • Hands of Ink…Day15) Napowrimo

    April 15th, 2015

    Dear Pen,

    Throwing water through the sky

sometimes I cry without any reason or any need

Yet the melodies of breathing loudly,

    Ohay-Ohey ,

    This joy,

    I find -hiding and seeking

underneath the journey of my purse

in the back alleys, off sidewalks

    Ohay-Ohey,

I stoop, breaking through  silence-halls in my mind

    I empty all my

    12441282-holy-weekend-march-for-economic-justice-coming-to-philly-saturday-april-4thworries-sifting

    Ohay-Ohey,

    growing up in courage

    we’ll meet again.

    5. Love is my power, no man can control
    6. Love is letting go.
    7. Love is effortless.
    8. Love is how the trees are made.
    9. Love is my whirlwind
    10. Love is leaping through the universe.

  • (Day 10 Future) Coral Reefs

    February 27th, 2015
     Steel blue salt,
In the waters that doth not stale.
The greatest fear is to fail.
    Salt blue steel.
     Soulful lessons with each tide.
Till I, shake the need for dying.
Til I, manifest, solid visions of my dreams.
Til the Urchins of the sea, find a home past the thieves.
Caught between the thickets of its kind.
    Reeled forward holding lines.
    Hook in gills
    Gills in hooks
      Reflections, of unsung stories
    all that lies before me
     tis but, Pearls of Opportunities.

  • (Day 8)Blues Psychedelic

    February 26th, 2015
    Soweto, dancing in my pocket.
    A rainy- tapping kinda night.
Folding red chairs, popping in and out of sight.

    Swaying in a journey,
    waking up to Conga.
Gingerly bouncing down my greatest fears.

I’ve got arms so wide, I’m ready to touch the sky.
    With dreams so big
    Somethin good, bound to happen.
     I’m not dead yet!

  • Homage to My Hips by Lucille Clifton

    February 21st, 2015

Poetry PotLuck: I Love Lucille Clifton Homage to her Hips even though I am small frame I see my hips as magic too, and her words lift me…  the power in a woman…  Her Poem moves me to have that Self love talk in the Mirror  hey “My life loves me”…

    Homage to My Hips
    BY LUCILLE CLIFTON
    these hips are big hips
    they need space to
    move around in.
    they don’t fit into little
    petty places. these hips
    are free hips.
they don’t like to be held back.
these hips have never been enslaved,
they go where they want to go
they do what they want to do.
    these hips are mighty hips.
    these hips are magic hips.
    i have known them
to put a spell on a man and
    spin him like a top!
