I’m ready to begin,
ready to ignite,
ready to disconnect,
ready to write.
It takes a while until those tears marinade the meat and bones.
The leaves have crumbled into winter and winter has fallen
bitter- below freezing, icy- storms trembling,
some think last days,
some remain unbothered
some are concerned with climate change
I think Maya Angelou “Nobody but nobody can make it out here alone”
I think Emily Dickinson “I could not stop for death”
I think Gwedolyn Brooks “I do not want fire screaming up the sky families killed in their doorways”
I think Ladan Osman “I watched the three legged cat grieve you, head in his paws”
I think of me the darkness inside & I’m not dead yet

We’re on day Three. WOW! I haven’t stretched these poetic bones in a while, and its’ showing. Goodness, I really struggled today. Had to write little by little come back to the scratch of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoOufhPQzuI
I’ve been missing in action for a while, working on sunflowers in my backyard. In the world’s devastation, once again
I find my prayers sowing & seeping, planting and reaping. There are days where human words cannot reach, only spirit sprigs the breach,
your spirit, sit next to my spirit, be still, in all the chaos of the wind.
Weep with me, that our souls may find sanity,
help me to believe in better days
around the sun ,
unconsumed by the flood….
