  • What belongs to a Woman?

    June 9th, 2017

    harp-384557_1280

What belongs to a woman? If it weren’t denied/ flushed pulsing with the hysteria of abortion rights, suicide, and coat hangers.

A long walk home, to gain a portion liberty if not liberty then our mothers who sat in lunch counters, awaiting a chance to be served, and rode on buses to spare her an ounce of dignity, for how far we’ve walked in the silence of tomorrow.

Deployed in war zones which should have been our bodies – it should be holy, undefiled like the sanctuary, on eve of sunrise morning,

and tell the world what belong to a woman’s body is her right to choose.

  • So you want to be a writer?

    June 3rd, 2017

    Kriss cover art (2)

So you want to be a writer? Why yes after many years of keeping a journal.  I wanted to be a writer because I call it clearing the masses of missed intercommunicated thoughts.

    Liar. Liar. Liar.

Okay, the truth is I came back to writing after three children, piles and piles of clothes and dishes. Nothing to prove but I needed to write myself in.

When I looked in the mirror I saw on paper a woman who’d gone to school but – “little ole Krissy became miss molly maid after all”-  after few years of work, it seemed the rat race wasn’t worth the merry go round, no amount of money could satisfy the dreamer.

Who is she? She’s an idealist, who loves to laugh really loud, and writes poetry.

If poetry could save the world or carry a consciousness to save our souls then we wouldn’t be a dying culture lost in the perversion of wanting to taste a deathless death in the name of religion. Or be so cold that, we couldn’t all be human beings.

So, for now, I leave you with a poem in which I wrote about change.

What happened, “get up you mighty race”?
You and this world would choose to be upward-mobile people, our
purpose to live didn’t start at the end of a dark street or the end of a gun.

I’ve heard what sounds like trying, like two drummers without ears, off-kilter
chasing dreamers of dreams beating the blood of our veins
but suddenly a new sound should crush the blows yesteryears-

    and be born
in the nick of change.~ your kindness sister Krissy Mosley

I’ll be taking a break and will be back shortly. As we all need rest and as my momma would say – girl get out and see the world don’t let it pass you by. Many blessings and I’ll see you in a flash. The world keeps turning wild and bright. ~Krissy Mosley

    May 26th, 2017

    Walking

So ride on ye who protest in the street,

ye who dance on crystal stairs,

for life me is leverage and fortitude.

I’ve added the extended version of this poem, many blessings

  • Over Glory

    May 17th, 2017

    Over Glory

In the arms of Georgia dreams
On red clay doors and wide hips
slip and pop in tiny- ash hands
under the dim sun, dreaming ghost
    watermelon sandwiches and fire-water

    Battle freedom for freedom
tins on kins – days on nights
and we wait, drying in the being free
    praying in the kitchen sink
    holding on breaking dreams

    looking over glory- I’se turning
mustard seeds/ to be more than trees
    more like men walking
    more like glowing winds
    more like storms bouldering over
these troubled rivers, of our lives – Krissy Mosley 2017

  • How to be Great? Friday Quote

    May 5th, 2017

Great men are not born great, they grow great . . .”
    ― Mario Puzo, The Godfather
    “You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust. You were born with ideals and dreams. You were born with greatness.
    You were born with wings.
You are not meant for crawling, so don’t.
    You have wings.
Learn to use them and fly.”
    ― Jalaluddin Rumi

  • Short Story Thursday:

    May 4th, 2017

I’d looked up- saw a train turning straight through my front door. For a brief, second I’d thought “oh no they found me”! My teeth unwashed, my hair, struck out by lightening, at least I’ve had my morning coffee. Welp/sleep ain’t always gentle but I’m thankful, I was only dreaming.
